Environmental services
Marine science applied to projects, permits and sustainability commitments
The Foundation gathers biological and environmental data with a published method and delivers it openly. That same capability underpins the services we provide to companies, institutions and authorities that need to comply, decide or demonstrate something about the sea.
Every peso that comes in through here funds the Observatory and the work with coastal communities. You can see what it is spent on.

Our own services
Each one is backed by tools and experience that appear in the team's CVs, not by a catalogue promise.

Environmental and marine monitoring
Environmental monitoring measures the same variables, at the same points, with the same method, for long enough that changes mean something.

Marine and coastal research
Applied research with a sampling design, auditable data and conclusions that help you decide: baseline characterisation, the marine component of impact assessments, assessment of threats such as coral bleaching or abandoned fishing gear, and the design and follow-up of coral, seagrass and mangrove restoration.

Safety in water operations
With a written plan before going out, people trained to carry it out and equipment that has been checked: a risk assessment for every diving or boating operation, emergency and evacuation protocols, and hands-on training in first aid, emergency oxygen and water rescue for field teams, divers and fishing communities.

Environmental data management
It means making sure the data an institution collects is still useful years later: structured with standards such as Darwin Core, cleaned, documented, stored in a geographic database and, if wanted, published on OBIS and GBIF.

Database analysis
Concrete answers to management questions: trends over time, spatial patterns, relationships between variables and differences between sites or seasons, with reproducible statistical and spatial analysis.

Education and training
Training for people who will use it the following week: technical teams that need to gather comparable data, institutions that must comply with a monitoring plan, and coastal communities that want to record what they see in their own sea.
